Vivian Barnekow

Vivian Barnekow is working in the division for Country policies and systems in WHO, Regional Office for Europe. She started her professional carrier as a teacher, later becoming education adviser on health promotion programmes dealing with lifestyles, alcohol and drugs. Having finalized post graduate education in health promotion she started working for WHO 16 years ago. Her main involvement for many years was with the European Network of Health Promoting Schools where she was responsible for the Technical Secretariat. The focus of her work now is coordination of child and adolescent activities in the European Region, and in particular the implementation of the European Strategy for Child and Adolescent Health and Development in a large number of countries in Europe. She is the WHO focal point for the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children survey.

David Villa, Ambassador of the PAPA Project

David Villa, the world-renowned professional football player for Barcelona C.F. and member of the Spanish Football Selection that won the 2010 World Cup, talked to the PAPA team in Barcelona expressing his commitment to the project. During the interview it was reflected how important the PAPA background and the Empowering coaching program principles were in his sport career, since he was a young player through to the present.
